Led Zeppelin make their US television debut on Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert, where they perform “Black Dog” and “Dazed and Confused”.

Chicago’s “If You Leave Me Now” hits number one in America, on its way to becoming their biggest selling record.

1999

Thirty years after making his initial US chart appearance with a song called “Jingo”, Carlos Santana has his first number one hit with “Smooth featuring Rob Thomas.  The song will stay at the top for twelve weeks and remain in the top ten for a record setting 30 weeks.

1995

Def Leppard pulls off one of the greatest publicity stunts ever when they play three concerts on three different continents in the same day. The band plays in Tangiers (Africa) in the morning, London (Europe) in the afternoon and finally in Vancouver, Canada, (North America) in the evening.
