What You Need to Know About The Fox Valley Marathon

Hi this is Leslie Harris. I’ve never run a marathon, and I have no plans to do that. If you are a marathon runner, I applaud you!

Whether you’re running or not, The Fox valley Marathon is happening next weekend here in the western suburbs. Here’s what you need to know:

The race begins this Sunday, September 17th. The race starts in St Charles, and continues through Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, and Aurora before returning back to Geneva.

Many of the roads in these towns will be closed, so if you are traveling in any of them, be sure to leave yourself some extra time for detours.

Runners of every skill level are welcome. This is a marathon that is smaller in stature, but still has the same amenities as the bigger races. It’s a great place to train for one of the bigger marathons.

You can run 26.2K, 20K, 13.1K, 5K and even a virtual run.
