David Edwards, our very own Super Bowl Champion!
Hi this is Leslie Harris, and I’ll be honest, I don’t care much about football. But, I got pretty interested in the Super Bowl when I found out who was on the LA Rams. My kids went to Downers North High school, and so did David Edwards.
David Edwards is the first graduate of Downers North to get drafted by the NFL, the first to go to the Super Bowl, and the first to win the Super Bowl! His former coach, John Wander was understandably excited, especially since it’s only Edwards third year in the NFL.
When David Edwards was at Downers Grove North High School, he played quarterback, and was also highly regarded as a player on the basketball team. He attended the University of Wisconsin, where he played college football.
He is part of the offensive line for the Rams, and did a spectacular job of guarding quarterback Matthew Stafford in the last few minutes of the Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Downers North said that they will announce soon a celebration of a Hometown hero. I can’t wait!
