Public Invited to Rock N Wheels in Addison Tonight to Write Messages on Ambulance Being Donated to Ukraine

There will be a special addition to Rock ‘N Wheels tonight!

A 15-year-old ambulance from the Addison Fire Department is heading to Ukraine to help first responders dealing with the war.

The ambulance was recently retired from the Addison FD, but will be continuing it’s service overseas! The vehicle was officially donated to the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America who will assist with the shipment, along with other donated ambulances.

Before it’s journey to Ukraine, the ambulance will be on display at Rock N Wheels tonight. Visitors are encouraged to write notes of encouragement on the ambulance body.

The City of Naperville donated an ambulance through the same organization last month. That vehicle is currently en route.

The entire idea was the brainchild of Chris Manson, who works in government relations at OSF Healthcare out of Peoria. You can read more about the genesis of this idea here.
