What Song are You Trying to Learn?

Hey, Leslie here and I saw an interesting survey from preply.com about songs that Americans are trying to learn. There’s everything from classic rock to the latest pop single, and they broke it down state by state, by popularity.

I’m sad to report that the song Lemonade is the song that most people from Illinois are trying to learn. I had never heard this song before, so I listened to 10 or 15 seconds of it. It’s not terrible, but it’s also not great.

Moving on to the more interesting parts of this survey:

Sweet home Alabama is the most popular song to learn in, You guessed it, Alabama.

All the Small things by blink-182 is the most popular song to learn in Colorado.

Blinded by the Light makes the cut in Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Well let’s be honest, the lyrics are pretty muddled.

People in Michigan are trying to learn Mr Brightside by The Killers, Hotel California is what people in New Mexico are working on, and in Virginia, Metallica reigns with Enter Sandman.

The most popular song that people are trying to learn across the country is Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, which has been covered by many artists.

Blinded by the Light comes in second. Songs from Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny also made the list.
