A Favorite Summertime Activity is Back

Leslie Harris here, and I don’t know why, but I’m a sucker for paddle boats. My mother on the other hand, was not. When I was a kid, I used to beg her to take me on the paddle boats. Occasionally, she would reluctantly indulge me.

One of the best parts of having young kids was doing those kinds of things. I would take my kids to Lincoln Park and rent paddle boats, and once I even popped for a few extra bucks and we rented the ones that looked like giants ones, paddling around the lagoon. Sadly, those paddle boats are gone.

Happily, Naperville has paddle boats, and you can rent them, starting this weekend.
For the next couple of weeks, it will be open on the weekends, and then beginning memorial day, the paddle boat quarry will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. through August.
It’s a beautiful spot, and you can rent a paddle boat, a paddle board, a one-person kayak or a two-person kayak.
You’ll find the paddle boat quarry at 4:41 Aurora Ave, on the Naperville Riverwalk. You may even see some frogs or turtles.
