An Easy Way to Help Local Kids
Hi it’s Leslie Harris, and I hate that we are already talking about school supplies, but this does happen every July. We can make a difference for local kids.
There’s going to be a school supply drive this Saturday in Wheaton. The Little Red Truck ministry is a partnership between Hope Presbyterian Church in Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department. Hope Presbyterian Church in Wheaton delivers supplies to Hope Presbyterian Church in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, and began during the pandemic to get needed supplies to residents of that neighborhood. They have a food and/or supply drive every month.
This month, the focus is on school supplies, and the supply drive is this Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Please bring loose leaf paper, spiral notebooks, construction paper, folders, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, erasers, crayons, markers, colored pencils, glue and child scissors to Hope Presbyterian Church, 1771 Weisbrook Road south, in Wheaton.Volunteers will deliver the supplies to Englewood.
