Name A Brookfield Zoo Cockroach After Your Ex!

It’s back! A tradition unlike any other…naming a Brookfield Zoo cockroach after your ex!

I think this is hilarious, and I love that BZ has a sense of humor.

If Valentine’s Day is more sad than glad, maybe this is for you. For a $15 donation that supports the zoo, you can name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after your ex! Well, you can name it after anyone, really! I named one after Mitch Michaels a few years back in celebration of his 50 years in Chicago radio!

You’ll receive a Certificate of Naming (like the one above, I imagine) in your donation receipt that you can fill out and share or hang on your wall as a reminder that a cockroach now bears that name. You’ll still receive placement on the Cockroach Naming Board posted outside of the Hamill Family Play Zoo. We will only be publishing the first name of the individual(s) you list. The board will be unveiled on February 14, and we’ll be sure to post pics to social media so you can find your names on the board.
