Take a break from crime, eh?

I guess folks in the Great White North have a pretty decent sense of humor.  Maybe the Mounties especially.

As snow blanketed Vancouver, Canada last Wednesday, police asked criminals to take a break while they were busy dealing with the weather.

An online message posted by the Nanaimo Royal Canadian Mounted Police reads, “Please avoid committing crime while we are dealing with the snow today. It’s really cold outside and we’d really prefer it if you’d do something nice for a change, like – I dunno — build a snowman or something?”

A short time later, an additional message appeared: “They’re calling for more snow tomorrow, so also please refrain from doing bad things tomorrow too. Kthxbai.”

Wouldn’t it be cool if that worked?
