The Most Dangerous NFL Stadiums, Based on Local Crime Statistics

There’s a lot of talk about how DANGEROUS football is, but usually that’s about what happens ON the field.

There’s a new report out on the most dangerous NFL stadiums based on actual crime statistics in the area, as well as fan surveys.

Now, I’m sure you’d expect Soldier Field to be high on the list, right? I mean, all we hear about is how dangerous Chicago is, but you’d be wrong!

Overall, the Denver Broncos’ stadium, Empower Field at Mile High, was named the most dangerous.  They say there are 70 crimes per 1,000 residents in the zip code where the stadium is located.

The Seattle Seahawks’ stadium is the second-most dangerous, followed by the homes of the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Kansas City Chiefs.

If you’re looking for VIOLENT CRIME only, the Lions’ stadium is #1, followed by the homes of the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, Chiefs, and New Orleans Saints.

The stadium with the most crimes that have been WITNESSED BY FANS is Lincoln Financial Field, where the Philadelphia Eagles play. The Dallas Cowboys’ stadium is second, followed by the homes of the New England Patriots, the New York Giants AND New York Jets, who both play at the same stadium, and the Browns.

And the stadium where the most fans have been a VICTIM of a crime is Dallas.  The Giants’ and Jets’ stadium is next, followed by the homes of the Washington Commanders, and Seahawks.

In a survey of more than 3,000 NFL fans, nearly 40% of fans said they’d witnessed a crime in or around an NFL stadium, and 7% said THEY had been victims of one themselves.

Unfortunately, the report doesn’t offer a FULL ranking, so it’s unclear how Soldier Field fairs according to their metrics.
