It is the day after Christmas; did Santa bring you anything cool? Most of my family celebrations are taking place this coming weekend so, Santa has not come to my house yet. I am hoping he got me the 78-speed record player I asked for though, just kidding.

On this day in Rock ‘N Roll history, Santa brought a few gifts for River Rock ‘N Roll fans in the US.

In 1963, Santa gave us the Beatles first single “I Want To Hold Your Hand” and on the B side of that was “I Saw Her Standing There”.

On this date in 1968, Santa brought us our first look at Led Zeppelin live in the states. Vanilla Fudge and Spirit opened for them at The Denver Auditorium. Tickets were only $5!

Born on this date:

In 1966, White Zombie guitarist – Jay “J.” Yuenger was born.

Lars Ulrich (drums – Metallica) was born on this date in 1963

Famous record producer, songwriter and the inventor of the “Sound Wall”, Phil Spector was born today in 1939.

Ace’s drummer, Steve Witherington, was born on this date in 1953.

Finally, Paul Quinn (guitar – Saxon) came into the world in 1951.

Therefore, this leads me to today’s Unscientific Question…. What band do you like more. The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?

As far as for me…sorry I like them both.
