30 Day Music Challenge- Day 30

And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I’ll say it clear
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain

I’ve lived a life that’s full
I’ve traveled each and every highway

Yes we knew this day would come … it’s the last day of the 30 Day Music Challenge. Remember the good old days when we had just begun… we had songs with colors, songs with names and songs about summer when summer seemed like it would never come. I just don’t think I am ready to let go … and as our friend Lenny Kravitz once said … It ain’t over ’til it’s over… so stay tuned and see what tomorrow may bring…

So on day 30 of the 30 Day Music Challenge … our question is … A song that reminds you of yourself… Now I could research and go super-deep with this one (but ain’t nobody got time for that!) Initially I was looking at songs about dancing … because I love to dance. I have embarrassed my children many times by busting a move in public place. I am never happier than when I am dancing … there were so many songs to choose from … I honestly didn’t know where to begin so I switched gears when I read a rock news story yesterday about Jimmy Page.

Essentially the Led Zeppelin guitarist lost a five-year battle with British pop star and former boy band member Robbie Williams (Think England’s version of Justin Timberlake), back in December. He unsuccessfully argued that construction of a basement that Williams was adding to his house next door could impact the foundation of Tower House, a Grade I-listed building where Page has lived forever. The committee approved Williams’ plan, but with the condition that vibrations and ground movement be limited and monitored. The chairman of the committee also suggested that the two stars meet in person to resolve their dispute. (don’t see that happening though.)

Anyhoo reading that story reminded me of a Robbie Williams song called Rock DJ, which had the following lyrics in it …

I don’t want to rock, DJ
But you’re making me feel so nice
When’s it gonna stop, DJ?
‘Cause you’re keepin’ me up all night

Well I am a night time DJ and I do hope that occasionally I help my listeners get through some long nights with some great River Rock ‘n’ Roll. So in the end I went with this song because it is about dancing to a DJ (which I have done many times) and being a DJ which I try to be M-F on 95.9 The River.
