Baseball Comin’ Back Sooner Than You Think.

So The Bears are who we thought they were and our football season is over. College ball wrapped up last night with Alabama winning the National Championship convincingly, so it’s winter and we’ve still got more NFL football playoffs and the Bulls who seem to be showing some promise and the Blackhawks who open their season tomorrow against Tampa Bay. So we’ve got some viewing and I love hockey and basketball (college too) but baseball Spring Training is just over a month away. You remember baseball right? Warm weather, sunshine, short sleeves, cold beer (spring arrives 67 days from today). Yeah, that’s the ticket. So how will our teams stack up this year? I think the Cubs are a very big question mark. They have let several of their mainstays go (Jon Lester, Kyle Schwarber). There’s trade talk percolating with some the other big names like Bryant and Contreras. Their biggest acquisition so far seems to be Jon Sciabi for Len Casper in the broadcast booth. There’s still time, but with the Cubs I think it’ll be wait and see. The White Sox have been very aggressive and are looking like a team hungry for success. Their last move, signing the leagues best closer Liam Hendrix certainly solidifies their bullpen and Hendriks joins starting pitcher Lance Lynn and outfielder Adam Eaton as major additions this winter to a White Sox team already equipped with a very strong roster. I think there’s gonna be a lot of interest and enthusiasm on the south side this Spring and Summer. Baseball will be here before you know it!!. Yeah Baby.
