Brenda Lee Atop the Hot 100 For Second Week

For the second week in a row, Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree is the #1 song in the land!

I don’t know why I get so much joy in seeing it there above Mariah Carey’s ubiquidous Christmas anthem. I think it has something to do with the underdog vibes of it all.

I even dig the new video they made for the song this year, which you can see above!

Last week marked the first time “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” ever topped the big singles chart since it was released in 1958, and now it’s going on a two-week run! How long will it dominate the charts?! Who knows!

Five of the top six songs are holiday classics, and six of the top 10 are seasonal songs. Of course, we are living in the Swift era, so Taylor is on the list as well with her Cruel Summer hit. A few other pop artists

To be fair, it’s not my favorite Christmas tune. That would be the Christmas Song by NKC, which also has a modern video to go along with the classic vocal. It is actually #15 this week on the Hot 100.
