Captain Kirk Going Where No 90 Year Old Person Has Gone Before!
“Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before!” Verbiage from one James T. Kirk Captain of the Starship Enterprise. Star Trek fans will, of course, recognize that opening phrase and appreciate that next week the 90 year old actor William Shatner, who played Captain Kirk, is actually going into space. He is joining the the crew of Blue Origin’s New Shepard on a spaceflight that’s slated to launch on Oct. 12. “I’ve heard about space for a long time now. I’m taking the opportunity to see it for myself. What a miracle,” Shatner said. “Yes, it’s true; I’m going to be a ‘rocket man’!” This flight will make Shatner the oldest person to have gone into space. For more read below.
