Casket Races? Yes Really, This Weekend!

Hey it’s Leslie Harris, and this weekend, Westmont is having events as part of their Wicked West Fest.

Saturday, the 21st is the day you want to head to Cass Ave. Sign up for the costume contest starts at 10:15 at the corner of Cass and Irving. They will have six categories.

The Trick or Treat trail goes from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at several businesses on and near Cass in the downtown area. Kids are encouraged to wear costumes.

The Caskets on Cass race kicks off at 12:30 in downtown Westmont on Cass. It’s a foot race of homemade caskets, and it’s sponsored by community organizations, businesses and area residents. I’ve never seen this race, in fact, I’ve never heard of it, but it sounds like a good time!

You can take a haunted wagon ride through Smith woods on Saturday from 3:00 to 9:30. The rides will be geared towards younger viewers from 3 to 6:30, and the sheer territories from 7:00 to 9:30.
