Harmonies at The Mac

Hey it’s Leslie, and I love music of just about every genre. When I was in high school, my absolute favorite class was always choir.

So I was excited to see that Chicago a capella is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, and they’re bringing their unique vocal stylings to the McAninch Arts Center at the College of DuPage.
I have never seen them in person, but I watched some of their videos, and they are fantastic.
History of Harmony will move through the decades, covering a wide variety of styles. I’m not going to list everything here, but you’ll hear samples of barbershop quartet, songs from The Andrews sisters, doo-wop, Motown, songs from Eagles, Bobby McFerrin, boy bands and girl bands of the ’90s, and the program ends with the finale from Pitch Perfect.
You’ve got two opportunities to catch this program, first at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance at 205 East Randolph Street in Chicago on Sunday April 21st at 3:00 p.m., and then on April 28th at 3:00 p.m. at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Falwell Boulevard, Glen Ellyn. And if you can’t make it to either of those performances, it will be available on demand the week of May 6th.
