How Leslie Dramatically Lowered Her Cholesterol Without Meds

2020 was a rough year for most people, me included. Four family members passed away, including my mom, I was furloughed from both of my jobs, I had a falling out with a close friend and oh yeah, there was a pandemic.

I turned it to comfort foods like keto ice cream, cheese and nuts. I figured I was eating a lot of protein and very little sugar. (keto ice cream has a LOT of fat, but little sugar) Well surprise surprise, my cholesterol shot up to 297, and my doctor insisted that I go on statins. Much to her dismay, I decided against it. With the help of a naturopath, I dropped my cholesterol dramatically.

First and foremost, I cut all dairy out of my diet, since that was the most common source of my dietary cholesterol. I don’t eat red meat, nor a lot of fried foods. I also increased my vegetables to at least five servings a day, especially leafy greens.

Perhaps the biggest thing was that I was making sure I was getting at least 5,000 mg of Omega-3s every day. (Please note that Omega 6 and Omega 9 are not recommended)

From the middle of September to the middle of January, I dropped my cholesterol from 297 to 199, all through diet and nutrition.

If you are struggling with cholesterol, I highly recommend these steps, or better yet find a naturopath. If you’re still having trouble, I have read that a product that is carried exclusively by The Vitamin C store in Naperville can also help to lower even hereditary cholesterol. Find them HERE
