When you are making the list of best days of the year, you have to find a way to make Wiener Dog Race Day in the top three, maybe behind Christmas and my birthday.

The second annual wiener dog races are almost upon us! It’s this Saturday during intermissions of the Chicago Steel game. Twenty-one wiener dogs have been training since last year’s event, and they’re ready to go!

Click here for the roster of four-legged racers.

The event is meant to raise awareness for adoption. The Steel will be recognizing  Rescue Warriors Corp. based out of Elgin, IL. Rescue Warriors Corp. saves abandoned animals from being euthanized because of no other reason other than someone not wanting them. They are run by volunteers and generous supporters who have provided their time and financial support to help with their mission.

So join us on Saturday and cheer on the races from the stands! Plus, watch the top rising hockey stars in the world up-close with affordable seats right on the glass in the Dubuque Fighting Saints vs. Chicago Steel match up. Puck drops at 7:05pm at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva. For tickets, visit ChicagoSteelHockeyTeam.com.
