Missing Your Favorite Christmas Carol? U of I has You Covered!

Hi this is Leslie Harris and I absolutely love this idea. The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana is once again having its Dial-a-Carol line, which has been in operation since 1960. You can dial the number and request a song 24 hours a day, and students and advisors will answer and fulfill your request.

You will hear a group of carolers, and you can choose from about 150 songs. This year, the University of Illinois carolers are hoping to sing to more than 8,000 people, but you must get that request in quickly, as the line is only open through Wednesday December 13th.

As a former choir kid, I can tell you that I would love this. People who love to sing, love to sing for other people.

The number to call to hear your favorite Christmas Carol is 217-332-1882. I think I might just call and request O Holy Night. Or maybe The Hallelujah Chorus. I wonder if they’d mind if I sang along.
