Music has seen many high profile and talented producers over the years. Names like George Martin, Quincy Jones, Niles Rogers, Brian Eno, Mutt Lange, Tom Dowd, Jimmy Iovine, Jeff Lynne and the list goes on and on. The music produced just by these names is an overwhelming amount of highly successful Hall of Fame bands, but a name not on that short list and a name that is on everyones top 10 list is that of Phil Spector. The man who brought us The Wall of Sound has died at the age of 81. The sad part of the story is Spector was not only a spectacular music maker, but also a convicted murderer. Spector was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 19 years to life in prison in 2009 for the 2003 fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson. He died yesterday in prison.
