List of Suburban St. Patrick’s Day Festivities Cancelled Due to COVID-19 Concerns
This is a running list of events that are being cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. It may NOT be a COMPLETE list. We are doing our best to keep it as up-to-date as possible. Please reach out to organizers to confirm if a specific event has been canceled, postponed or will go as scheduled.
COVID-19 concerns are costing the City of Chicago their three largest St. Patrick’s Day parades!
The Downtown Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Southside Irish Parade and the Northwest Irish Parade have all been postponed with no reschedule date announced.
The dyeing of the Chicago River has also been canceled.
The Downtown Naperville Alliance just released word that the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Naperville and the accopanying 5K race have been cancelled.
In the suburbs, the St. Charles St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been canceled.
News from the Plainfield Hometown Irish Parade is that they are still on! That parade will go off as scheduled on Sunday, March 15th at 1:00 in downtown Plainfield.
We are still waiting on word from other festivals and events. If you are an organizer and would like to spread the word, please message us on Facebook or email [email protected].
We will be updating this list as we hear information from organizers.
