Still Working? Well, For How Long?

In the past few months I’ve had a bunch of people I know either retire or say they’ve set a date to stop working. Andy Avalos Channel 5 weather man who we’ve all known for quite a while just retired. I have several other friends in media and out who have either marked a future date on a calendar or simply said I think it’s time. Now some of these folks are much younger than me and I get the question quite regularly “Hey when are you gonna retire”? Honestly I really haven’t given it much thought and when I do the first thing that pops into my head is “What the hell would I do all day if I wasn’t working”? Mine’s not an age thing! It’s simply me still doing what I love and at what I feel is at a relatively high level and people still responding in a positive manner to it. The age thing, for me, really doesn’t enter in. I still really like what I do and will probably keep doing it for a while. Saw an article which I’m including about Nick Saban, Alabama’s Football coach, and his out look on working and age and he has some interesting thoughts on continuing to work. He says “I enjoy what I do. I like the challenge. I’m not a sit-around, do-nothing kind of guy. I like to be involved in things, I like challenges,”. I kinda feel the same way.
