The Finnish Finish First Again

The UN World Happiness Report (which sounds like the opposite of the World UNHappiness Report) came out on Friday.  And despite a worldwide pandemic for the past year, the same country that took the prize for the past three years took it again!  And that country is Finland, for the fourth year in a row.

Iceland came in 2nd, followed by Denmark and Switzerland.  I feel like these are all countries with a lot of snow.  I’m not even sure if that’s true, but I know a lot of snow doesn’t make ME happy.

In fact, the U.S. moved up from 18th to 14th place on the list.  So that is an improvement. And France came in at #20.  The US is one of the richest countries in the world, so maybe that proves that money really can’t buy happiness.

The weird thing is, this is based on how happy the people polled perceive themselves to be.  So is it possible that the Finnish are just deluded?  Eh, probably not.

At least we beat France.
