The Gang Is Back…But A Bit Different Than You May Remember!

Yesterday, HBO released a few trailers and teasers for a new series that retells the original story of America’s favorite crime fighting gang!

It’s called Velma dives into Velma’s past and the events that led to her assembling the Mystery Inc. team!

This is NOT a kids show! I repeat, NOT a kids show. There’s adult topics (sex, drugs, etc), graphic – if not animated – violence, and some well-timed cursing.

I’m not an adult who still watches cartoons (not judging, you do you), but this looks pretty hilarious because of it’s obvious parody of the people who are likely to complain about it.

The official series description reads as follows:

VELMA is an adult animated comedy series telling the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and under appreciated brains of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. This original and humorous spin unmasks the complex and colorful past of one of America’s most beloved mystery solvers.
