Wondering when your federal stimulus check will arrive?  Starting today, you’ll be able to track it online.

The IRS will launch a tracking tool called ‘Get My Payment’ on Wednesday, April 15th on IRS.gov.  It lets you track the status of your stimulus payment, confirm whether you’ll get a paper check or direct deposit, and enter your bank information if the IRS doesn’t already have it.

According to CNN:

The IRS is first sending money to those for whom it has bank account information on file. That might not be you if you haven’t received a tax refund over the past two years — or if you received a refund by a check in the mail, rather than by a direct deposit. But the Get My Payment tool, expected to roll out this week, will also allow taxpayers to input their bank account information so that they can receive the money electronically rather than by a paper check — which could take weeks, or even months.

The U.S. Treasury says 80 million stimulus payments will go out this week.

Keep in mind this is prime time for con artists and scammers. The best advice is to always be suspicious if getting unsolicited information from an unknown source. Remember, the IRS will not call , text you, email you or contact you on social media asking for personal or bank account information – even related to the economic impact payments. Also, watch out for emails with attachments or links claiming to have special information about economic impact payments or refunds.
