U of I Mass Testing. Does It Help?

Testing. That seems to be one of the major points of contention in the fight against the coronavirus. We need more testing, testing isn’t necessary for everyone, more testing shows more cases so test less, the tests aren’t of any value if they take a week to get the results back. There are so many opinions and positions on this and yet really without testing how can we know who and how much the virus is spreading and where! The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign had implemented a mass coronavirus testing program for staff and students in an effort to keep virus spread on campus under control. But on Wednesday, the university reported rising numbers of positive coronavirus cases, and announced a two-week lockdown for undergraduates.
