The Chicago Steel have been playing hockey at the Fox Valley Ice Arena the last several weeks, but this weekend will be the first with fans in the stands! Actually, they will be one of the first sports franchises to have fans to an indoor sporting event.

Steel President Dan Lehv was on the Mackay in the Morning Show on Thursday to talk about opening the ice rink back up to fans.

Per Gov. Pritzker’s orders from last week, the Steel can have fans at 25% capacity, which is about 650 people. You can get your tickets here!

There will be temperature screenings, masks are required, and seating will be with social distancing in mind.

Friday night will also include a banner unveiling for their regular season title (the Clark Cup Playoff was cancelled).

You must buy your tickets in advance! Go have some fun – safely! – with the first place Chicago Steel!

Oh…one more thing. On Sunday from 11:00 – 1:00, they are hosting a drive-thru Teddy Bear toss! You can bring an unused Teddy Bear to throw out your window in the parking lot of the Fox Valley Ice Arena which will be donated to charity! If you are familiar with hockey, this makes sense! The Easter Bunny, Rusty the Steel mascot, and Sparkle from Family Dental will be there to say hi to the kids!
