Yeah It’s Cccold Out. So What?

Hi, this is Leslie Harris, and I’m so happy to be back on my regular shift after almost 2 years of being furloughed! Thanks so much to Scott Childers for holding down the fort.

Anyway, today was cold, with a high only in the twenties. But seasonal affective disorder is a real thing, and I have not been getting outside much in the last couple of weeks, due to the fact that I haven’t been feeling well. I had three negative COVID tests, but I still have been feeling pretty run down.

So today I bundled up and I got outside in the sunshine. There’s all kinds of reasons to do this, not the least of which is that it’s great for improving our moods, especially when the sun is shining. But even when it’s not, getting some aerobic exercise, even if it’s just walking, is good for our mental as well as our physical health.

By the way, I get cold very easily, so I really layered up today. I know I’ll have to continue to do that, and even more than I did today.

So go ahead, get yourself bundled up, and get outside! You’ll be glad you did.
