Yeah It’s Cold. Go Outside Anyway

Leslie Harris here. I took this picture on New year’s Eve when it was sunny but cold. I think the temperature was about 25°.

Now, I hate the cold. I mean I REALLY hate the cold. My feet get so cold that I have trouble getting them to warm up, and then I just feel cold all over for hours. So why am I going out when it’s cold?

With the combination of the pandemic and this cold weather, it’s easy to just stay hunkered down. But there are many reasons to brave the cold.

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sick of being inside all the time. Getting outside, especially in the sunshine is extremely good for our mental health. Science has proven that fresh air, exercise and sunshine can greatly improve our mood. Plus, look how pretty it is!

And speaking of exercise, you know how you made that resolution to drop some weight this year? Walking outside is a great way to burn off some calories.

So bundle up and get outside. You’ll be glad you did.
