One of the best, most wholesome traditions in Chicagoland is enjoying a mug of glühwein or a stein of beer from Christkindlmarket and taking home the drinkware to add to your collection. Every season they bring a new design, and this year’s new look have arrived!

For the second year, Christkindlmarket will open in downtown Aurora at RiverEdge Park. Opening day is set for November 17th and will feature the following hours of operation:

REGULAR HOURS
Thursdays – 11am – 7pm
Fridays & Saturdays – 11am – 9pm
Sundays – 11am – 6pm

SPECIAL HOURS
Thanksgiving (Nov. 23) – 11am – 4pm
Monday (Dec. 18) – Wednesday (Dec. 20) – 11am – 7pm
Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) – 11am – 4pm

As usual, there will be plenty to do for mom and dad, and the kids as well! This year, there’s a reindeer scavenger hunt where you snap pictures of seven Christkindlmarket reindeer.

“Twinkly Thursdays” are back – with many new specials. This year, you have the opportunity to watch glassblowing demonstrations at the Christkindlmarket Aurora. Holiday-themed face painting, typewriting poetry, beer stein holding competitions, and much more will keep all age groups entertained at RiverEdge Park.

They are also adding more authentic German events, like a unique wine tasting event at the Christkindlmarket Aurora at RiverEdge Park. At this 21+ event, you can try up to 8 unique mulled and cold wines from Germany and Austria (provided by Weinbauer), paired with delicious pairings from Austrian Lodge and Sweet Castle. This event will take place on the Skydeck and allow you to take in the magic of the market from above. This is a one-time only event with limited tickets that takes place on Saturday, December 2nd. Tickets are on sale now.

More details about each location, their vendors, events as well as hotel and parking specials will become available throughout the next couple of weeks on the Christkindlmarket website. Every location page has a “Plan Your Visit” section that will continuously be updated.

Happy Christkindlmarketing!
